2024 Intelligent Connected Electric Vehicle Industry Innovation Exchange Conference Successfully Held in Xiong'an
The 2024 Scientist Innovation Conference, organized by the China Society for Electrical Engineering in collaboration with relevant institutions, was successfully held in Xiong'an from 2024-12-13 to 15. The conference theme, "Driving the Development of New Quality Productive Forces through Technological Innovation," focused on the latest achievements and trends in scientific research across multiple fields, providing a broad platform for scientists to exchange ideas and collaborate.

Serving as a parallel session of the 2024 Scientist Innovation Conference and organized by the Beijing Intelligent Connected Mobility Development Center with support from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the 2024 Intelligent Connected Electric Vehicle Industry Innovation Exchange Forum was held concurrently. Distinguished attendees included Academician Chen Qingquan, founder of the World Electric Vehicle Association and member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Han Yi, Secretary-General of the China Society for Electrical Engineering; other industry leaders; and experts. More than 80 participants attended, including professionals and entrepreneurs from the automotive, communications, and transportation sectors, as well as researchers in intelligent connected mobility from universities. The forum was moderated by Wang Cheng, a senior engineer at the China Automotive Technology and Research Center.
The forum featured keynote speeches by Geng Lei, former Chief Engineer of the China Automotive Technology and Research Center, on "Exploring the Development of Intelligent Connected Electric Vehicles"; Li Jianhua, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Beijing Yizhi Times Digital Technology Co., Ltd., on "Applications of Digital Twins in Intelligent Connected Electric Vehicles"; and Gao Fei, Executive Dean of the China Intelligent Connected Electric Vehicle Industry Development Research Institute and Partner at its Industrial Fund, on "Reshaping the Global Landscape of China's Intelligent Connected Electric Vehicle Industry: Opportunities and Challenges for Industrial Capital."
Academician Chen Qingyuan outlined the evolution of electric vehicles (EVs) to intelligent connected EVs, providing in-depth analysis of vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technologies, sensors, and the integration of people, vehicles, roads, and cloud systems. He encouraged scientists and engineers to focus on core technologies, drive innovation, strengthen collaboration, and prioritize talent development. With an open, cooperative, and inclusive mindset, we must accelerate the growth of China's intelligent connected EV industry.

In his remarks, Secretary-General Han Yi stated that the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSAE) has long leveraged its unique strengths to make significant contributions to the advancement of electric vehicle technology in China. As a new industry, intelligent connected vehicles represent a collaborative innovation platform and emerging scenario integrating deep convergence across automotive, electrical/electronic, and information and communications technology sectors. The Society will actively promote the deep integration of electrical engineering technologies with intelligent connected vehicle science and technology, collaborate closely with researchers and practitioners in this field, and contribute its expertise to the high-quality development of the intelligent connected electric vehicle industry.
Professor Geng Lei, former Chief Engineer of the China Automotive Technology and Research Center, presented an in-depth overview of the intelligent connected electric vehicle (ICEV) industry from a technology perspective. His presentation covered industrial technological transformation, core technology advancements, emerging automotive systems, and socialized technology roadmaps for vehicle intelligence. He also provided a comprehensive analysis of ICEV technologies, applications, management practices, and future development prospects.

Li Jianhua, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Beijing Yizhi Times Digital Technology Co., Ltd., presented on the applications and exploration of digital twins in intelligent connected electric vehicles. He explained the definition and value logic of digital twins, as well as their product applications in intelligent connectivity. Through continuous exploration, optimization, iteration, and evolution, digital twin technology enables machine-to-machine connectivity, human-machine collaboration, and virtual-real integration. This empowers the entire industry, driving sustainable development of the intelligent connected electric vehicle sector through intelligence and personalization.

Gao Fei, Executive Dean of the China Intelligent Connected Electric Vehicle Industry Development Research Institute and Partner at the Industrial Fund, outlined the opportunities and challenges for industrial capital arising from the reshaping of the global landscape by China's intelligent connected electric vehicle industry. He covered key dimensions including: new species driving new industries, ecosystem building and synergy, current trends in industrial capital inflows, market expansion and global influence, and strategic responses for industrial capital.
Experts, entrepreneurs, and researchers from universities specializing in intelligent connected vehicles engaged in thematic discussions. Participants freely shared their views and suggestions on innovation in the intelligent connected electric vehicle industry, jointly analyzed root causes of challenges, explored solutions, and reached a consensus on driving industrial innovation and development.
